MVNS Makes a Difference
Topic: Construction

This is what the newest mountain looked like. Last time Mississippi Valley N Scalers were in town Tim and I teamed up and in short order had transformed all the pink foam and chicken wire into something which looks a whole lot more like a mountain.

More manpower means more done in a shorter length of time. The difference isn't always this dramatic but MVNS member participation makes a significant difference in the progress on the MK&P layout. Here's before-and-after close-ups of the Western Metals mine and its surroundings.

Here it was all pink foam. I used left-over scraps of foam and carved them into the cliff. There wasn't space here to use the wire netting. That pink is really ugly!

Still a long way from the rocky cliff it will become, but no more ugly pink. Now the kit-bashed mine stands out and you start to get an idea of how it will look in the finished setting.
